The 15th China-Japan Economic Partnership Consultation was held

On November 26, Ren Hongbin, Vice Minister of Commerce, and Hiroshi Suzuki, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, co-chaired the 15th China-Japan Economic Partnership Consultation by video. The two sides had a candid and pragmatic exchange of views on the two countries' economic landscape, China-Japan economic cooperation and trade, multilateral and regional issues and other issues of respective concern. Representatives from relevant departments of China and Japan attended the meeting.

Ren Hongbin said that President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Fumio Kishida spoke on the phone, reaching important consensus on building a China-Japan relationship that meets the call of the new era, and identifying the direction for economic cooperation and trade between the two countries. The 6th Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee held not long ago summarized the major achievements and historical experience of the CPC over the past century. China has started a new journey toward fully building a modern socialist country, and China's development will provide broader markets and opportunities for all countries. The two sides should take the 50th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan relations next year as an opportunity to implement the important consensus of the leaders of the two countries, strengthen economic policy communication, actively expand cooperation on green and low carbon development, digital economy and third-party markets, jointly keep global industrial and supply chains stable and maintain fair and open trade and investment environment, safeguard the multilateral trading system, promote regional economic integration, and contribute to the economic recovery and development of the region and the world.

Hiroshi Suzuki said that Japan and China are important economic and trade partners for each other, and the leaders of the two countries pointed out that it is necessary to work together to build a constructive and stable Japan-China relationship that meets the call of the new era. Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan relations. We hope to strengthen economic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between the two sides and maintain communication on international economic issues.
